Leaf brooches had been a favored motif for several decades of the latter half of the 20th century, and the single gold leaf on the lapel is a classic look that always works well. No wonder it was so popular!

This particular brooch seems to be modelled after a vine maple, and set with a single faux pearl at the centre.
