Cool vintage shark brooch dating from the 1980s. Personally, I'm terrified of sharks. One of the few irrational fears I'm aware of having... but also, the Ocean is their domain. You don't see them coming, you don't hear them coming, then you're torn apart. Horrific. That said, sharks are a keystone species essential to maintaining healthy marine ecosystems and we (people) need to stop wiping them out at the alarming rate the we are. Live and let live, etc. So long as I can stay on the beach. 

The brooch is beautifully crafted, the body and tail curved in a crescent-like sweep, set with deep blue sapphire eyes, and open jaws revealing two rows of jagged teeth. I'm tempted to keep it - for a long time as a kid (so probably around two years) I wanted to be a marine biologist. All those shark books/documentaries are probably why I still feel uneasy swimming in the sea.
